St Cuthbert's Carlisle

A warm welcome awaits you at St Cuthbert's Church, Carlisle. It is thought that there has been a church on the site in Blackfriars Street since before St Cuthbert's visit to Carlisle in 685. The present Church, probably the fourth on the site, dates from 1778. We are a Church of England Parish Church and the Civic Church in the heart of Carlisle City Centre.

We are a friendly, warm, welcoming church who will offer Christian Hospitality to all who enter the church.

Our main service is at 10.30am on Sundays. It is a Eucharist service enhanced by organ music and a choir. Children are welcome every week and especially on the first Sunday of the month.

We welcome enquiries for baptisms, weddings and will help as much as we can if, sadly, you are preparing for a funeral.

Jesus said “I came that they should have life, and have it abundantly.” John 10:10
