Nicholforest

Welcome to St Nicholas’ Church,

St Nicholas' Church (commonly referred to as Nicholforest Church), is an historical and architectural treasure situated in the parish of Nicholforest in North Cumberland, England.

Nicholforest has a rich history that dates back to the medieval period. You can read all about this in the brochures and books we have available in the church. The church was originally built in 1744, making it a site of significant historical interest. Over the centuries, the church has undergone several renovations and restorations to preserve its structure and heritage.

Nicholforest is a rural area located in North Cumberland, England, close to the Scottish border. It is known for its scenic landscapes, rolling hills, farmlands, and patches of woodland. The area is sparsely populated, with small hamlets and farms dotting the countryside. The River Liddel flows through the region, adding to its natural beauty. Nicholforest has a quiet, pastoral charm, ideal for those looking to experience the peacefulness of the English countryside.

Whether you are searching for a spiritual home, curious about faith, or just looking for a place to belong, we warmly invite you to explore our community. At St Nicholas’ Church, we believe in the power of love, hope, and togetherness. Our doors are open to everyone, and we are committed to sharing the message of God's grace through worship, fellowship, and service.

Nicholforest church is small but very welcoming. Many rural churches are on the decline, encountering  financial constraints, declining attendance and high maintenance bills for these old buildings.  One of our objectives is to make the church more accessible for the entire community and its visitors. We seek to strengthen and expand on this community spirit so more and more people are able to enjoy the spiritual, historical and social essence off Nicholforest's beautiful church.

All are welcome at our services and if there is anything that you don't understand, just ask.

Join us as we grow in faith, serve our community, and build lasting relationships. We're excited to walk this journey with you!

God bless and welcome to our family
