St Mary Magdalene's, Hayton

Welcome to Hayton Parish Church, which is dedicated to St Mary Magdalene.

Our parish is one of ten in the Eden, Gelt and Irthing Team Ministry, which is itself part of the wider Three Rivers Mission Community. The Team Rector, the Revd Canon Tricia Rogers, resides in nearby Brampton, while the Team Vicar, Revd Canon Edward Johnsen, resides in Hayton itself. Edward currently has pastoral responsibility for Hayton parish, along with the parishes of Castle Carrock, Cumrew, Cumwhitton, Farlam and Talkin.

Hayton has a thriving church school next door. To see more information about our church life, see the 'About us' button in the column on the left or visit the church website (see 'Get in touch' button in left-hand column).

The parish of Hayton: St Mary Magdalene is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer, PSO. The Diocese of Carlisle’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
