Coronavirus - Public services on hold
You will be aware that the government introduced additional measures on Monday 16 March 2020 aimed at preventing the further spread of coronavirus. The Health Secretary made clear in Parliament that the guidance applies to all faith communities.
The Archbishops have issued a letter today in response to the guidance. The letter contains the very significant news that our usual pattern of Sunday services and other midweek meetings must be put on hold. It is understood that at present the only exceptions are weddings and funerals.
The church will remain open during the day for private prayer although every visitor must take appropriate actions in accordance with current government guidance.
