After 4 years of applying for and being awarded funds from the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Friends of Kent Churches we have finally completed all the essential repairs to our historic church building. What looked like a simple job of replacing a few stones and filling in a few cracks was in fact a mammoth task involving stone masons tracing the stonework, removing large areas of stonework from the tower wall, filling in voids and then replacing the stones in exactly the same positions. It is amazing what went on behind the scaffolding and screening over the last few months. But now we can say that our tower is safe and the building is looking good and will hopefully survive another 650 years to serve the wonderful local community of Queenborough.
