Daily Scripture'For you yourself created my inmost parts; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I thank you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvellous are your works, my soul knows well.' (Psalm 139:12 & 13)Daily Reflection Psalm 139 is a beautiful psalm thanking God for who He is. Acknowledging that He is our creator….that He is YOUR creator. Acknowledging that He knows us, and He cares for us. (He knows when we sit and when we rise.) Acknowledging that He is always there with us – whatever we are going through. “Where can I go from your spirit?” the psalmist asks. Nowhere; He is always with us. The psalmist recognises just how incredible life is – and that God did it: “I thank you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” YOU are wonderfully made; what God has done in creating YOU is awesome! Thank God today. Please look out your Bible, read and pray the whole of this psalm today for yourself.Revd David
Daily Scripture‘I think it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus… in order that you may rejoice at seeing him again, and that I may be less anxious. Welcome him then in the Lord with all joy, and honour such people, because he came close to death for the work of Christ, risking his life’. (Philippians 2.25-28)Daily ReflectionSt Paul writes that he hopes to “be less anxious” about the situation in Philippi. He is sending the friend who has been seriously ill, “close to death for the work of Christ, risking his life”. We have become very aware in the pandemic just how many people are risking their lives out of concern for others (the work of Christ). Later in this letter Paul writes “Rejoice always... do not worry about anything… By prayer and thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God which passes all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”. We, like Paul, can be anxious for those we care about and at the same time be at peace. David Harmsworth
