Daily Scripture:‘Listen! I am standing at the door, knocking; if you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to you and eat with you, and you with me.’ (Revelation 3:20)Daily Reflection:It’s not often we dip into the book of Revelation: an account by the Apostle John. This verse may conjure up the image of William Holman Hunt’s “The Light of the World” painting in your mind. If it does, that is good – think on it, but don’t let the thought stop with the image. Is Christ knocking on the door of your heart? Are you too busy with earthly things to even notice the knock on the door? Those earthly things that are distracting you could be money or material possessions. These are temporary; there is something far more precious; something that will last for ever.“Listen!” Hear the knock. Open the door. Invite Christ in…. invite Him into your life. If you’d like to pray about it, contact me.Revd David

Daily Scripture‘The earth is the Lord’s and all that fills it, the compass of the world and all who dwell therein.’ (Psalm 24.1)Daily ReflectionThe divisions in society are really being brought to the fore, by terrorism in France and Austria, by US election fever, by the effects of the pandemic. How do we react to those who incite division? The Biblical Devil is the Confuser, the Attacker, the Liar. The truth is that the earth is home for all of us. We are not all the same, but we have the same birthright. Divisions within or between families, communities and nations are the result of failure to see ourselves as the Psalmist says it. ‘The earth is the Lord’s and all that fills it, the compass of the world and all who dwell therein’.David Harmsworth
Daily Scripture‘I will give thanks to you, Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all your marvellous works. And those who know your name will put their trust in you, for you, Lord, have never failed those who seek you.’ (Psalm 9:1 &10)Daily Reflection We are going through a pretty tough time at the moment. You may not feel like thanking God with your whole heart. Your trust might be wavering a little. One of the wonderful things about the 150 Psalms is how honest they are; full of human emotion. We too can be honest with God. If you are feeling low – tell God. He is still there. He is constant. It is our feelings that may have changed not God’s; His love for you has not changed. Keep trusting: He is still there; still in control. There have been times in my life when I’ve not felt able to pray; but I’ve looked back and know that it was me, God was still there. And so I continue to “Give thanks with my whole heart. The Lord never fails those who seek Him.”Revd David
