Daily Reflection

All day Jesus had been ministering to the needs of the huge crowds who flocked to him for healing. As evening began to fall his disciples urged him to send the people home, as they had been there all day and must be hungry. They must have been aghast when Jesus told them it was their responsibility to find food for all these people! In the event they tracked down a few loaves and a couple of fish, from which, blessed by Jesus, the whole crowd was fed.

When we pray, as we must, for those in need - for the hungry, the homeless, the lonely and the oppressed - we must ourselves be prepared to be used by God to bring about what we pray for. We should not underestimate what God can do through us.
