Daily Scripture:
The Lord is my shepherd;
therefore can I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures
and leads me beside still waters.
He shall refresh my soul
and guide me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. (Psalm 23 1-3)
Daily Reflection:
“Forest Bathing” is a new way of describing “going for a walk in the woods”! - with one small difference and that is to do so mindfully - to take in the sights & sounds, the smells & textures in the present moment - to take time to stop, breathe and relax. The sound of water has also been proven to calm the mind and refresh our soul. Our blood pressure falls, our breathing slows and our mind clears, leaving us with a sense of calm. It is in these moments, when we are surrounded by nature that we feel connected to the great majesty of God’s creation. Taking the time to study the smallest of flowers to the tallest of trees, and doing so mindfully & prayerfully, is when we get to understand just how much God loves us.
