We are delighted that you are enquiring about baptism for your child (or for yourself) at St. Nicholas Church.
A child may be baptised (or “Christened” – they’re the same thing!) at any age. Sometimes parents choose to ask for their baby to be baptised, others wait until the child is a little older.
During a baptism service, your child will be welcomed into the family of the church and the congregation will promise to support your child and you, as parents; the baptism therefore usually takes place in the main Sunday morning service. The service marks the start of a lifelong journey of faith for your child and is a special day for your family and friends, and for the Church. We recognise that there are situations where it may not be possible for the baptism to occur in a main service. Revd David will be happy to speak to you and explore how we can work together to make this a special occasion for your family.
