Daily Scripture‘O Lord, what is man that you care for him, the son of man that you think of him?’Or, as The Message Bible puts it,‘I wonder why you care, God - why do you bother with us at all?’ Daily Reflection In the middle of praising God for his greatness and entreating Him to intervene on his behalf against his enemies, the psalmist suddenly stops short and asks himself why God should actually care about us at all. He is the all-powerful Creator of the universe; why should He trouble himself with our petty affairs? God created human beings in his own image, to love and to be loved. He has made his love known in countless ways throughout the ages, but most amazingly of all he took a human body and came to live on earth as a human being like us, in the person of Jesus. God does not just observe us dispassionately from a distance. He is there in all the nitty gritty of everyday life, good and bad. Emmanuel. God with us. Revd Rosemary

Daily ScriptureMake music to the Lord with the lyre, with the lyre and the voice of melody. With trumpets and the sound of the horn sound praises before the Lord, the King (Psalm 98 v 7 & 8)Daily Reflection Music has the ability to lift the spirits, to evoke memories and to bring us together. Collectively taking part in creating music, whether that be playing an instrument, banging a drum or singing, has been shown to be beneficial to our mental wellbeing. Unfortunately, this year, we have not had the chance to do many of these things - even our congregations in church have not had the benefit of joining in the singing of hymns, However, singing at home is allowed, so if you feel the urge to join in with our online Parish Carol Service this year please go to the church website and on Monday evening at 7.30pm we can all join together to sing praises to the Lord. Wishing you all a very peaceful Christmas and a healthy and Happy New Year. Lyn Hayes ALM
