Bruce Watson begins his Curacy today, with wife Jacqui, Sam and Freya. He will be based in Deal for his first year then move to Ashford.

Bruce, 50,  has been working with St George's church Deal as a part-time Children's Youth and Family Minister while training for ordination at St Melllitus College, London. He and the family have lived in Deal for over 20 years - Bruce was originally a modern languages teacher. Jacqui teaches in Dover while Sam awaits his A Level results; Freya will be completing hers next year. We wish them well and every rich blessing of God as Bruce begins his ministry among us.

As we like to do food, there was a reception after the welcoming service. True to tradition, there was a cake to be cut - and Bruce broke the knife! A cousin was on hand to take the picture. No reflection on Bruce or the cake!!
