St Mary the Blessed Virgin Church, Woodnesborough
is very pleased to host a concert by
‘The Aldington Quintessentials’ Wind Quintet, which includes members of Folkestone Symphony Orchestra.
Date: Saturday 13th July 2024 at 7.30pm.
Admission is FREE with a retiring collection in aid of ’Sounding Out’, a local musical charity.
Refreshments will be provided after the concert.
The programme will include a narrated musical version of Hansel & Gretel by Humperdinck with Jan Leeming as the Narrator. Jan Leeming is the President of Folkestone Symphony Orchestra as well as a retired TV presenter.
The Overture from the Magic Flute by Mozart and a selection from the Pirates of Penzance by Gilbert and Sullivan will also be part of this wonderful programme.
Belinda Pidgen is the clarinettist in the quintet and also our church organist.
More details of the programme and the names of the musicians in the wind quintet will be published in the next magazine.
The Charity ‘Sounding Out’ is a local musical charity that is run in partnership with The Kings School Canterbury. It aims to share the standard of excellence in musical education and the resources available at The King's School, Canterbury with those that might not otherwise be able to learn an orchestral instrument or develop their general musicianship, without cost being a barrier.
