We begin the service outside the Rectory with the blessing and distribution of palm crosses before processing into the church. The feast commemorates Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem.

The Easter Vigil originally was a night of “story-telling” throughout Easter Saturday night. The story told was that, recorded in the Scriptures, of God saving his people (saving them from slavery in the exodus from Egypt and from oppression when they were exiled in Babylon). As we see ourselves as an ongoing part of this story, the Easter cross and resurrection comes to life for us: it is our own story of being saved.
Our Easter Vigil will be the telling of this story beginning at 7pm Holy Saturday with Old Testament readings, music and prayer.
