A service to remember and comemorate those we have lost over the past year or so, many of whose funerals have been taken by members of the parish's clergy team.

The service involves a Bible reading, hymns, a choral anthem sung by the choir, and the names of those who have died over the past 12 - 13 months (plus others requested by members of the congregation) and is followed by tea and coffee (or soft drinks) and a chance to 'be'.

A list of names to be read will be at the back of the church before the service; those attending might like to check that a name they know will be read is correct, or there is the chance to add a name to be read out.

There will be Christmas gift tags at the back of the church which you can write the name of a loved-one on to hang on the Christmas tree (usually put up the weekend of 16/17 December in time for the church's Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols). You can keep the tag yourself and hang it nearer Christmas, or leave the tag with us to be hung when the tree is decorated.

St Mary of Charity

St Mary of Charity is part of The Benefice of Faversham and has a diverse, interesting and lively congregation who gather regularly not only to worship but also to support and care for each other and our beautiful church - the largest parish church in Kent.

We are a welcoming and inclusive large Church family. Our children's work takes place every Sunday in the South Transept which allows our families to take part in the main service with their children.

We have many links with our wonderful St Mary of Charity Church of England School.  In addition, schools across Faversham share many special times with us, as do the community in general.

During the pandemic things are different but we remain the same lively and supportive church family in the community and are here for you, please get in touch.

St Mary of Charity is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults.  We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs.  The Diocese of Canterbury’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs.  If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA.  If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.</span>
