For anyone feeling overwhelmed by the mayhem that the world seems to be sinking into, and a feeling of helplessness, the Benefice of Faversham will be having informal, quiet prayer times at their four churches each week. These are not led, but there will be members of the ministry team present.
St Mary Magdalene with St Lawrence and St John the Evangelist, the Brents and Davington: Fridays, 1.30pm for 30 minutes (with an opportunity for tea/coffee and a chat afterwards);
St Mary of Charity, Faversham: Wednesdays, 11am for an hour;
St Peter and St Paul, Ospringe: Wednesdays, 10.15am for 30 minutes; and
St Catherine's, Preston-next-Faversham: Wednesdays, 10.15am for 30 minutes.

St Mary of Charity does not organise these concerts, but provides the venue.

A regular Saturday morning recital based at St Mary of Charity showcasing up-and-coming young talents and more established performers. Information on performances/performers can be found on www.patreon.com/classicalcoffeeconcerts. There is no charge for the recital, but there is a retiring collection.

Tea and coffee are also available in the church.

Please note that on some occasions it will not be possible to have the recitals or they will be at a different venue, please check the classicalcoffeeconcerts site to confirm there is a concert on.

God made some of us autistic, and that's how He likes us.

This Autism Acceptance Month St Mary of Charity Faversham is holding a short service of words and music for autistic Christians led by autistic Christians.

The service will be at 2.30pm on Sunday, 6 April at St Mary of Charity Faversham. It will include two readings from the Bible, two hymns, a short talk, prayers and a piece of music.

Everything in the service will be written down for those who like to think visually or have things in advance. There will be clear symbols to show what is happening for those who prefer images. There will be pictures in advance of the church, the route to get to it, and the facilities we have available. Everyone will be free to take part in the service and come and go as they please.

This is explicitly not just a service for children. Autistic adults are an important part of God's church, some of them in leadership roles as priests, lay leaders or musicians. This service is for them, as well as all autistic Christians of all ages.

Autism is not a curse, or something to be feared or "cured". God made about 1 in every 50 people autistic. This service aims to give time and space for autistics to worship God in the ways that work for us.

A traditional evensong service led by the choir of St Mary of Charity. Between May and September Evensong will be at 6pm rather than 5pm.

Please note that there is no Choral Evensong on Sunday, 6 November 2024, as there will be an All Souls Service at 3pm.

The Choral Evensong on 1 December will be replaced by the Advent Procession service at 5pm.
