Baptism/Christening

In baptism, we thank God for his gift of life and publicly acknowledge his love.
In the Anglican Church it is common to baptise young children; this is sometimes known as christening.
However baptism is offered at any age, if it has not been received by an individual previously.
Baptism is a ‘sacrament’ (holy ritual to symbolise grace) in the Christian tradition that is traced back to Jesus himself being baptised in the river Jordan.
It acknowledges God’s ‘yes’ to us and in the baptism service our ‘yes’ to God.
If you would like to ask more about baptism or have a child baptised please contact one of the clergy team:

A Funeral

A funeral is used to mark the end of a person’s life here on earth.
Family and friends come together to express grief, give thanks for the life lived and commend the person into God’s keeping.
These can be a small, quiet ceremony or a large occasion in a packed church.
Everyone is entitled to either a burial service (funeral) or to have their ashes buried in their local parish churchyard by their local parish priest regardless of whether they attended church or not.

We also are avialable to take services at the local crematoriums for those who would prefer cremation.

We now have a team of trained lay ministers who can take your service as well as the Clergy.
