Opening
St Leonard's is normally open from 8 in the morning till just after 5 each evening, 7 days a week. Often we are open longer, for a choir practice or social event, for example, and we welcome visitors at all times we are open.
The ossuary (or "crypt") is open most days during the warmer months, from Easter to the end of September. Full details of the opening times are published shortly before Easter each year.
Getting here
St Leonard's is very definitely on a hill! On foot from the town centre, the church is best approached using teh footpath that runs up from the High Street, passing under the Old Town Hall; look for the building with the clock in the High Street to begin your walk up the hill.
If you're walking downhill from the direction of Saltwood, St Leonard's is best approached from Church Hill where it crosses North Road. The views of the church, town and Channel from here are spectacular.
If you need to get to St Leonard's by car, use the postcode CT21 5DN for your sat-nav; take North Road, then Church Road, and most days you should find a parking-space in our small car park under the spectacular east end tower of the church. On Sundays and at times of other services and events, this car park fills up quickly and street parking is tricky; if you are able, we recommend using one of the inexpensive town-centre car parks and walking up to the church.
