We are Thanington Parish Church:

A community of worship, welcome and witness to Christ,

who are learning from the past, living in the present and looking to God’s future.

We are learning from the past.

- We learn from the Bible, looking to Jesus Christ as the foundation of our faith.

- We are continuing more than a thousand years of Christian presence in Thanington.

- We are wise about the past, holding on to the good and learning from mistakes.

- We care for St Nicholas Church as part of Thanington’s heritage.

We are living in the present

- We gather to worship God, learn the way of Jesus, and pray for the Holy Spirit’s help.

- We give generously, trusting God to provide, and doing what we can with what we have.

- We offer a warm welcome to all, including young and old, locals and newcomers.

- We care about Thanington and work together with others for the good of the whole community.

We are looking to God’s future

- We believe God loves Thanington and wants people here to find faith, hope and love through Jesus Christ.

- So, we pray God will help each of us to share the light and love of Christ with others,

- We pray for the church to grow in number and grow younger (on average!),

- And we pray for a network of healthy Christian communities to serve the whole parish.
