St Paul's (Without the Walls)

Welcome to St Pauls (Without the Walls) -  a church in the centre of Canterbury standing just outside the city walls.

Visitors to St. Paul’s without the Walls tell us that we are a very friendly church and that in our worship they will find the blend of tradition and modernity that defines our community. Our worship is broadly traditional but we hope you will also find it relaxed and full of joy.

Our flexible, warm and large worshipping space means we now have 5 main worshipping communities (some more traditional, some less so) who meet at different times throughout the week or month, but we are all one family and one congregation.

Our aim is that here, as an Inclusive Church all can find a ‘place to belong’ here and that our different types of worship help facilitate a meaningful encounter with God, influencing the way we live our lives.

St Paul’s is open each day for prayer and stillness in the midst of our busy lives and city.

Joined with St Martin's Church for over 300 years, together we are the Parish of St Martin & St Paul and you are very welcome to walk with us on our journey of faith.

We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Canterbury’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs.
If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adult Social Care Services Services.
