If you've visited St Andrew's churchyard recently you may have spotted that the grass has not been mown for a little while. This is to give insect life a chance to make use of flowering plants and grasses - essential for survival of these useful pollinators.
The grass will be mowed as usual soon - but for the moment, I hope you can enjoy our more than usually vibrant green oasis - giving us all a chance to slow down from the busy world, think and perhaps offer up a prayer.
I know it's not for everyone, but I prefer churchyards that look like this and haven't been mowed to a pristine finish - those joyous oxeye daises in the top picture and the flowering grasses below are beautiful, a sign of life and God's generosity - and essential for those insects to thrive.
