Parking at Christ Church

Christ Church is located in the Clifton Village (CV) Residents Parking Zone. The zone is divided into two halves bordered by Clifton Park, with different operating times.  During the hours of operation you may use the Pay and Display bays around the church building. These cost £1 per hour for a maximum of 3 hours with the first 30 minutes free.  To park for free you still need to get a ticket from one of the machines. Please check the signs carefully as not all bays are Pay and Display.

The nearest public car park is the West End Car Park, in Berkeley Place (postcode BS8 1EH). Charges are £1 for one hour up to £10 for twelve hours. Christ Church is a 15 minute walk away.

After 5pm or on Saturdays you may park in the streets north of Clifton Park without a permit or Pay and Display ticket.

There are no restrictions on Sundays.

Alternative means of transport

Please consider using an alternative means of transport for your journey:

By Bike: Cycle racks are located outside Christ Church on the Clifton Park side.

By Bus: Christ Church is served by Route 8 which links Christ Church to Temple Meads station, Broadmead and the Zoo in a circular route.  A greater selection of buses stop at Clifton Down Station (BS8 2PN), about 15 minutes’ walk away. Routes stopping here include No’s 1, 2, 3, 4, 9 and 16. See www.travelwest.info/bus for more details.

By Train: Clifton Down Station (BS8 2PN) is a 15 minute walk away and has direct trains from Temple Meads and Avonmouth/Severn Beach. Visit www.gwr.com for more details.

By Taxi: There is a taxi rank in Clifton Village, a short walk away from the Church.

By Park and Ride: If you are travelling from further afield, please make use of the Park and Ride facilities which stop outside or close to Christ Church in Clifton Village.   Route 505 from Long Ashton Park & Ride site (BS3 2HB) to Christ Church. See www.travelwest.info/505 for more details.   Route 901 from Portway Park & Ride was withdrawn in September 2016.
