We are delighted to be able to open the church for individual private prayer, on Sunday afternoons between 2-3pm.
Individual Private Prayer at St Martin's Church
Sundays 2-3pm from Sunday 21st June
Almighty God, we praise you for the many blessings
you have given to those who worship you in this house of prayer:
and we pray that all who seek you in this place may find you,
and, being filled with the Holy Spirit,
may become a living temple acceptable to you;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.
Amen.
Planning your visit:
- If you have a new continuous cough, a high temperature, or a loss of taste or smell, please do not enter the building
- Please use handgel provided on entering the church
- Please maintain social distancing measures of two metres between each person
We've been working hard to get the church ready so that those who would like to come and pray can safely do so. Please read the following notices to help get a better idea of what to expect.
There will be volunteers in attendance throughout the hour and furniture in the church has been rearranged to ensure social distancing is possible.
Please follow the guidelines which will be displayed on clear signage within the church to ensure that everyone is able to safely participate in the opportunity for individual private prayer.
This is for individuals to come into our beautiful sacred space, for the opportunity to be still and pray; it is not for fellowship or shared prayer.
There will be a one way system for access, to move around and exit the church.
There will not be any access to the toilets, or facilities to make a drink etc.
Our services will continue to be shared on our social media channels and website. An audio recording of the weekly message and Sunday sermon are also available to listen to on our new phone number: 0117 427 0148.
Would you like to volunteer?
In order to open the church safely we are putting together a rota of volunteers to help with this hour of private prayer.
We don't yet know when we will be able to gather for worship, this may be a short term arrangement, or it may go on for a number of weeks. We will continue to review this.
Whilst we have the first couple of weeks covered, if anyone would like to volunteer to help support the time of prayer in future weeks, and you are not in a 'vulnerable' category, please let either Becky or one of the church wardens know.
If you would like to volunteer please email Becky Waring at: [email protected]
or Andrew Wellens (church warden) at: [email protected]
