What’s happening? Someone joked that they needed a diary just to keep a track of what’s happening at St Nic’s. It’s wonderful that there is so much going on and we are ever grateful to all who muck in and make it happen. We will be producing an Advent and Christmas list of dates, but in the meantime here’s another date for your diary. On Saturday 10th December we are delighted to announce that we will be hosting “Carols in the Courtyard.” This year our carols will be led (in the church car park!) by a brass band from Rochdale and will be followed by a hot pot lunch in the Broadway Rooms. This is an event for all the family and your neighbours, so please sign up at the back of church or phone the Vicarage to book a place at lunch. There’s no charge, it’s our gift to you and the community.

Advent Sunday and beyond: Next Sunday marks the start of the Church’s new year and it also marks the launch of our new 4 o’clock service. Please pray for those who are leading it and pray too that families will respond to the invitations that have been delivered. This is an informal service of worship to which everyone is welcome and is part of our vision to make Christ known in our community.

At the back of church, you will find this year’s Advent Reflections, a daily reading and thought for each day. Please take a booklet for yourself and join with us and the Diocese as we journey through Advent together. There are large print copies and extra copies if you wish to pass one on to a friend or neighbour.

Christmas Fair 3rd December: Massive thanks to all the generous gifts already received for this community event. Members of the PCC are selling raffle tickets for £1 per strip…don’t miss out!

Larkholme School Christmas Shop: Sandra F has been blown away by the number of new gifts that have been donated by St Nic’s people to this worthy cause. Next Sunday will be your last chance to donate.

100 Club – Winners last week were Margaret Forshaw, Mike King and Cath Chambers

Please remember in your prayers – Rev Jane Everitt, Tony Hardman, Rev Martin Keighley, Gillian & Elizabeth King, Chris Kelsall, Michaela Jones, Kathryn Pendleton, Timothy, Cath Chambers & Annie Bates. Please also remember the families of Cliff Turner, Jim Heafield, Bill Blundell, Barry Porter, Rev Andy Shaw and Michael Raynor, whose funerals are due to take place.
