All Souls: On Wednesday 2nd November at 12 noon, we will be holding a service of Holy Communion during which we will be marking All Souls, also known as the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed. It is our tradition on this day to remember our loved ones before God as a reminder they are loved by God in death as in life. There is a sheet at the back of church for you to append the name(s) you wish to be remembered. Later that evening, the families who have been bereaved in the last twelve months and to whom the Vicar has ministered, have been invited to a memorial service in church, during which their loved ones will be remembered by name too.

We offer up remembrance: those whose absence we feel daily; those who have shaped us;

those who have nurtured us; the people we are grateful to have walked with; all those we hardly

knew but wished we’d known better. We give thanks for all they gave and all the future owes them.

Lord, your love embraces every person who has ever lived; you promised that you lost none.

May your Spirit make us always thankful for all our gifts of love and cherished memory.

Christmas Fair: The Fair will take place on Saturday 3rd December, and we already have a number of stalls booked by the members of the community which is a great opportunity to meet and welcome new faces. The raffle tickets for the grand draw are just about ready to be distributed and we hope everyone will endeavour to sell some for us, particularly to friends and family beyond the church. That said, once again we’re asking for your help in providing some amazing raffle prizes, bottles for the tombolo and gifts for our Christmas Stall.

Are you Confirmed? Those of us who were baptized as infants have usually had the opportunity to confirm those promises for ourselves at a special service of confirmation, at which a Bishop is present. If you haven’t been baptized or if you have been baptized but not confirmed and would like to discuss this further, then please speak to the Vicar as soon as possible.

100 Club – Winners last week were Dorothy Cox, Shirley Kershaw and Barbara Quirk.

Please remember in your prayers – Rev Jane Everitt, Tony Hardman, Rev Martin Keighley, Gillian & Elizabeth, Graham Armstrong, Cliff Turner, Chris Kelsall and Cath. Please also remember the families of Hilda Jenkinson, Denis Armitage, Marie Woods, and Ella Laverick whose funerals are due to take place.
