12.00 pm Harvest Lunch and Auction in the Broadway Rooms

Open Church: Church is open for private prayer Monday to Friday, 11 am to 12.30 pm. If you are able to sit in church for 90 minutes to help this happen, then please see Karen.

Raise the Roof Concert: Thank you, thank you, thank you for the incredible response for bottles of wine and raffle prizes donated for this event and for the work that has gone on behind the scenes preparing for this fundraiser. We will be able to report next week how much we managed to raise.

Harvest Sunday 9th October: Following our Harvest worship together, we will be serving a Roast Pork Dinner in the Broadway Rooms, followed by our famous Harvest Auction! We are charging £8 for lunch (£5 for children) and the proceeds from the day will be donated to the Bishop’s Harvest Appeal.

This year the Diocese is supporting the work of the Mothers’ Union Literacy and Numeracy Project in Burundi. As one of the poorest countries on earth, with the majority of people living on less than £1.50 a day, by giving what we can, together we can make a significant difference to the lives of people in Burundi who are in desperate need. There are envelopes available at the back of church for donations. We will still receive the usual harvest gifts of dried foods, tins etc., some of which will be auctioned on the day. Items not included in the auction will go to the foodbank.

Defibrillator Training: Save the date, Monday 10th October 6 pm in the Jubilee Room. Since we have a defib on site several folk have asked how to use it. We have arranged for some basic training and it would be good if as many of us a possible could attend. If you need a lift, please just shout!

Christian Bookshop: As you'll probably know, over recent years Christian bookshops have closed in many places: Preston, Lancaster, Blackburn, and at the end of last year CLC Bookshop in Blackpool. This is the pattern around the country. Fear not! After much preparation and in a room at Christ Church, there is now a bookshop and giftshop offering a range of books, gifts and CDs. The shop is called the 'Meadows Books' and is open Monday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. It's run by volunteers and payment can be taken by contactless, chip and pin, or cash. There’s also a coffee shop. Why not give it a visit?

100 Club – Winners last week were John Quirk, Elsie Mathias, and Amelia Quirk

Please remember in your prayers – Rev Jane Everitt, Tony Hardman, Rev Martin Keighley, Gillian & Elizabeth, Graham Armstrong, Cliff Turner, Chris Kelsall and Cath. Also, the family of Michael Roskell, whose funeral is due to take place.
