Phil’s Licensing – We are thrilled today to be welcoming Ruth Haldane the Warden of Lay Ministry who will preach at the 10.45 service and license Phil to St Nicholas as a Lay Minister. We’re going to celebrate afterwards with a Jacob’s Join lunch, so please do feel free to join us! There will be plenty for everyone, even it you haven’t planned to come!

Fundraising Ideas – Thank you for those of you who have already identified ways of raising funds to pay for the roof repairs. One super idea is “Come dine with the Vicar!” This will be a series of meals at the Vicarage to which you, your friends and family are all invited (8 at a time)! There will be a speaker, sumptuous food and drinks and good company provided. At the end of the evening, you will be invited to make a generous donation! Interested?? There’s a sheet at the back of church to annotate your name and indicate how many guests you can bring. Don’t be shy, this is a lovely way to get to know people who you might not otherwise get to spend time with.

Vicar’s Relicensing – As we are now aware, it has been announced that Carolyn is to be relicensed to us for a further three years. There is a legal process that has to be followed in these circumstances and therefore Bishop Julian and Archdeacon David will be attending a service of Morning Prayer here at

St Nic’s on Tuesday 5th July at 9 am, during which the induction and institution will take place. You are warmly invited to come along to this quiet service, after which tea and toast will be available.

100 Club - Winners last week were Ruth Aspinall, Nancy Burr, and Dorothy Angel.

Please remember in your prayers – Rev Jane Everitt, Tony and Maureen Hardman, Rev Martin Keighley, Gillian King, Harry Pendlebury, Fiona and Joy. And also, the families of Eva Kenyon, Lloyd Makin, Elizabeth Baxter, Ted Angus, Maureen Bond and Edward Helsby whose funerals are due to take place.
