Roof Repairs – We have entered into the 28-day period of public notice required for the pending repairs to the church roof. We have obtained quotes to replace the existing flashings and to repoint some of the stonework on the tower with a view to halting any further water ingress. The total cost will be somewhere in the region of £53,000 of which we have £23,000. Whilst we are working hard to raise some of the balance through potential grants, we will need to come together as a church family with imaginative fund-raising ideas and events. We’re hoping to have the work done before the winter sets in. If you think you can help in anyway, please speak to a member of the PCC or the Vicar.

Any on-line donations will be directed towards the roof fund.  You can do this via the "Donate to St Nicholas Church" tab on this website.

Father's Day – Today is Father’s Day as it is held on the third Sunday of June annually. It is a day to honour fathers and father figures, such as grandfathers and fathers-in-law. Many people make a special effort to visit their fathers or to send them a card or gift. So, we wish all who are Fathers a happy day full of love and surprises. We are mindful though, as we are with all these celebrations that it won’t be a great day for some folk for countless different reasons. Nevertheless, it’s good to acknowledge those who have been and are great Father figures.

Heavenly Father, you entrusted your Son Jesus, the child of Mary, to the care of Joseph, an earthly father. Bless all fathers as they care for their families. Give them strength and wisdom, tenderness and patience; support them in the work they have to do, protecting those who look to them, as we look to you for love and salvation, through Jesus Christ our rock and defender. Amen.

100 Club - Winners last week were Alma Wright, Sue Dell and Margaret Forshaw

Please remember in your prayers – Rev Jane Everitt, Tony and Maureen Hardman, Rev Martin Keighley, Gillian King, Harry Pendlebury, Edna Jenkins and Fiona. And also, the families of Jean Houghton, Margery Barry, Eva Kenyon and Lloyd Makin whose funerals are due to take place.
