Alpha ReminderThis is another first for St Nic’s, hosting an Alpha Course! If you aren’t one of the 52 people who have signed up this time, then don’t worry, there will be other opportunities in the future. We are praying that the Holy Spirit will move among us nurturing existing faith and sowing seeds of new faith in Jesus Christ. On Fridays at 7.30 pm, would you stop what you are doing for a few minutes and pray for all who are involved in our Alpha, those attending, those leading, those helping? Pray that God would open eyes that are closed and ears that are blocked, that God would soften hearts that are hard and heal souls that are hurting. Pray that God would send down his Spirit to renew and heal and empower us to be his faithful people in this place and beyond.

Living in Love and Faith (LLF)

It’s almost twelve months ago since churches within the diocese of Blackburn were asked to start to engage with the national church on the issues of how questions about identity, sexuality, relationships and marriage fit within the bigger picture of the good news of Jesus Christ. We were asked to start thinking about what it means to live in love and faith together as a Church?

The national church has been exploring these questions in depth for some time and the discussion is now being opened up at deanery level. We at St Nic’s will be invited to join with our brothers and sisters in Christ from Poulton, Cleveleys and Thornton to undertake some form of Lent study together. It is important that we engage with this topic as the outcomes, whatever they are, will have far reaching consequences for the Church of England going forward. Further information about our Lent meetings will be made available as soon as possible, but please begin to consider your attendance, even if it is just as an observer.

100+ Club - Winners last week were Chris Jones, Christine McLellan and Jillian Muir

Please remember in your prayers – Fr Ron, Rev Jane, Heather, Eddie Gillon, Baby Milly & Gillian King. And also, the family of Nora Jefferson and Harold Emsley whose funerals are due to take place.
