Christmas FairMassive big ‘thank you’ to everyone who helped to make our Fair such a wonderful occasion. Shout out to Trudie, Wendy, David, Joanne and Ruth for their planning and delivery, but also to everyone who helped to set up, work on the day and tidy up! We were extremely blessed with all sorts of gifts for the fair, so thank you for those too! It was super to see so many of our neighbours join us and our new friends from Little Gang! Well done everyone. It was a blast.

TONIGHTIs our Patronal Festival. Bishop Julian will be presiding and preaching and our friends from St Chad’s and St Hilda’s have been invited to join us. Please make a special effort to attend this service and if you need a lift then don’t be shy…just ask! The heating will be on and refreshments will be served!

Plans for Christmas At the back of church there are A4 size notices listing most of what we’re planning to do between now and Boxing Day. Please take one for yourself and one for a neighbour too. The school events are being limited to the parents of the children in certain year groups due to the increased level of Covid transmission, though we will need a couple of helpers at each service. Please see the Vicar if you can act as welcomer and caretaker at any of these events.

Covid – It seems that we are entering another concerning phase and though most of us are fully vaccinated and boosted, we do need to take extreme care when gathering indoors. As yet the Church of England has not issued any further restrictions but we shall keep a close eye on developments. In the meantime, please take every precaution possible to protect yourself and those around you.

Advent Prayer: God of Salvation, Wake us up Lord! The night is nearly over. Let us continue our Advent journey. Move us from our lives of greed and selfishness, from our globalised world of inequality and exploitation, to your kingdom of righteousness and mercy. To a transformed world, where peace is built on understanding not weapons, the poor are empowered to live their lives to the full, businesses are built on need not greed and your Creation is nurtured not abused. Wake us up Lord! Let us live as people of the light. Amen.

100 Club: Winners last week were Elsie Mathias, Barbara Quirk and Raymond Hollebone

Please remember in your prayers - Jane, Jeanette, Heather, Michael, Alan Fleming, Fr Ron & Gillian King. And please pray too for Wilf Taylor whose funeral is due to take place and for his family too.
