6.30pm Advent Carols and Readings

Advent Booklets The season of Advent encourages us to watch and wait for the coming of King Jesus. At the back of church, you will find this year’s Advent Reflections, a daily reading and thought for each day. Please take a booklet for yourself and join with us and the Diocese as we journey through Advent together. There are extra copies if you wish to pass one on to a friend or neighbour.

Advent Sunday CarolsOn Sunday 28th November at 6.30 pm, we have been asked to host this event held by Churches Together in Fleetwood. There will be Advent readings, a reflection, prayers and carols to mark the beginning of the season. The music group from Emmanuel Fleetwood will provide some of the worship. Why not come and bring a friend with you?

Phil Deegan We’re delighted to have Phil join us on a placement at St Nicholas from Advent Sunday through until Easter. Phil is a Licensed Lay Minister and will be assisting in lots of different ways in the coming weeks. Do please take time to introduce yourself to Phil and Janet at the first opportunity.

Fruit TreesYou may have noticed 5 new fruit trees have been planted in the grass outside the Broadway Rooms. We are sincerely grateful to Sandra and Derick Foulkes and Fleetwood Rotary who have gifted these to us. We are hoping eventually for a bumper crop of different fruits, which will be available for ourselves and the community, to ‘pick your own’. Relevant signage will be added in due course.

Church SittingNow that the windows are finished, we want to be able to reopen the church for private prayer weekdays from 11.00 am to 12.30 pm from Monday 29 November. Can you offer to help us with this important ministry? Most folk who do church sit have said how much they look forward to 90 minutes of peace and quiet, reading and listening to the background music in the beautiful surroundings of the church. We need help to keep the church open for the community. Please see Karen Hay who is drawing up a new rota.

Please remember in your prayers Jane, Jeanette, Heather, Alan Fleming, Gillian King, Eddie Gillon and John Wood whose needs at this time are known to God. And please pray too for Nick Evans, Marjorie Cornes, Mavis Wright and Doreen Nelson whose funerals are due to take place and for their families too.</span>
