We made it! -The windows in the tower have now been completed and this coming week should see the scaffolding dismantled and the skip removed. The meticulous planning has paid off and we think you will agree that it is money well spent. We have only been able to undertake this project of repair, in part, due to the generous legacy from the late Betty Smith in whose life this church played an important part. Legacies are one way of ensuring the future of the building. How important has St Nicholas Fleetwood been to us? Do we hope that it will continue to play an important part in the lives of those who come after us? A legacy in our wills could help to make that happen!

St Nicholas Patronal FestivalOn Sunday 5th December at 6.30 pm Bishop Julian will be our guest preacher and presider at a vigil to mark our Patron Saint. We have invited our friends from St Chad’s and St Hilda’s to join us, which will provide an opportunity to thank them for the financial support they have provided to us over the last three years. Please make a special effort to be with us as we celebrate all that we have achieved together and let’s show the Diocese that we’re very much alive and kicking! If you would like to come, but don’t have a lift then please just ask and we will arrange pick-ups and drops-offs.

Advent Sunday Carols – On Sunday 28th November at 6.30 pm, we have been asked to host this event held by Churches Together in Fleetwood. There will be advent readings, a reflection, prayers and carols to mark the beginning of the advent season. The music group from Emmanuel Fleetwood will provide some of the worship. Why not come and bring a friend with you?

100 Club: Winners last week were Muriel Freestone, Elsie Mathias & Jillian Muir

Please add to your prayers: Jane, Jeanette, Heather, Alan Fleming, Gillian King, Eddie Gillon and John Wood whose needs at this time are known to God. And please pray too for the families of Nick Evans and Marjorie Cornes who are grieving at this time.

God be in my head, and in my understanding; God be in mine eyes, and in my looking; God be in my mouth,

and in my speaking; God be in my heart, and in my thinking; God be at mine end, and at my departing.
