Harvest Festival: Sincere thanks to everyone who has contributed in any way to our Harvest Festival today. Your generous gifts of dried foods and tins will be distributed to local agencies this coming week and toiletries will be taken to Boots Hygiene Bank to be donated to people living in poverty.
Church Sitting: For health and safety reasons, whilst scaffolding is in place inside and outside of the church, we will not be opening for private prayer on weekdays from Monday 11th October and until further notice. We are so very grateful to those of you who enable this ongoing ministry.
Christmas Fair: - We are delighted to announce that this will take place in the Broadway Rooms on Saturday 4th December which is only 55 days away from today! Plans are well underway, with Trudie and her team on the lookout for bottles for the Tombola, quality new gifts and spirits for the Grand Draw, Christmas items for the Christmas stall, homemade craft items, homemade cakes and preserves. There will be a “Good as new” stall, so any unwanted items of good quality will happily be accepted.
Mothers Union: For existing members and anyone else who would like to come along, the first meeting in such a long time will take place on Thursday this week (see above). Hope you can come and do feel able to invite others. Susan Burrell is the enrolling member if you have any questions.
100 Club
Winners last week were Maureen Siddall, Pat Warrington, and Daniel Ashworth
Please add to your prayers: Nigel, Jane, Elliott, Heather, Jayne, Gillian, and John whose needs at this time are known to God. And please pray too, for the families of John Pirie and Valerie Gray who are grieving at this time.
A prayer for the week:
We are not people of fear: we are people of courage.
We are not people who protect our own safety: we are people who protect our neighbours’ safety.
We are not people of greed: we are people of generosity.
We are your people God, giving and loving, wherever we are, whatever it costs,
For as long as it takes, wherever you call us.
