*******************************

Christmas Fair: We’re hoping to make up some hampers for raffle prizes. Any donations of luxury food items are still being gratefully received, together with bottles for the tombola, chocolates and gifts. Please return your raffle ticket stubs and money as soon as possible to the box at the back of church. And thank you to everyone who is working so hard behind the scenes to make this event happen.

St Nicholas Church: Is now officially a Grade II listed building. The Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport has decided to add the Church of St Nicholas to the List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. Listing helps us to mark our beautiful church’s significance and celebrate its special architectural interest. It brings specific protection so that its special interest can be properly considered in managing its future. It’s great news for us and for Fleetwood going forward.

Singing for pleasure: It’s a well-known fact that singing is good for the soul and good for our general well-being. So, how would you like to have an hour a week leaning new worship songs and singing your favourite hymns? The sessions will take place in the comfort of the Jubilee Room. At the back of church, you’ll find an invitation. Fill it in and pop it in the box provided. We’ll try to pick a day and time that suits the majority.

Remembrance Sunday: Next week as in previous years, we will enact our own mark of remembrance during the 10.45 service. The service at the cenotaph in the Memorial Park will also commence at 10.45 am.

From Nothing to Now: This is an exhibition reflecting the people, places and heritage of Fleetwood sharing stories, words and images gathered and created by artist Hannah O’Hara as part of a co-commission with Photoworks. The exhibition is on display from November 4 - 28 in Fleetwood at Fleetwood Museum, Fleetwood Library and the Fleetwood Market Gallery. St Nicholas Church features in the exhibition. Please check individual venues for their opening hours

Please remember in your prayers: Louise Clark, David Newton, Peter Dell, Rev Martin Keighley, Elizabeth King, Mark Price, Rebekah, Lee Schofield and Craig Abson. And the families of Marion Wilson, Derek Scrivener, June Manton and Derek Fenton whose funerals are due to take place.
