*******************************

Dream Team Concert: On Saturday 7th October at 7.00 pm in church, we are hosting our friends, The Dream Team Singers along with Wal and Dion, the father and son singing sensation. This is a community initiative and all proceeds will go to support the ongoing work of the Willow Garden Project. Tickets will be available on the door at a cost of £5 each. Please do come along if you are able. It’s sure to be a happy occasion.

Harvest festival: Sunday 15th October, we will have our usual services followed by a Jacob’s Join lunch and auction in the Broadway Rooms. If you are able to donate items of chocolate, wines, spirits, household goods etc. they will be made up into hampers to be auctioned on the day. The money raised will be sent to the Bishop’s Harvest appeal. Tinned and dried foods collected will be donated to Streetlife, a homeless charity for young people in Blackpool. Harvest donations can be delivered to the Vicar’s Vestry, where they will be received with grateful thanks. Please sign up at the back of church from today if you are joining us for lunch and if you are able to bring something to share at lunch, jot that down too.

Bishop’s Harvest Appeal: Full details of this appeal can be found on our website or on the Diocesan website, but in summary, Bishop Philip has asked us to support the Anglican Bishop of Liwolo and the work he is doing in South Sudan. Just two days after Bishop Joseph Aba was elected as Bishop, that whole part of South Sudan was plunged into the most terrible and destructive Civil War. Bishop Joseph had to lead his people into exile. The people from Liwolo have been living in refugee camps in the northern part of Uganda. As they leave those refugee camps behind and go back to South Sudan, Bishop Joseph has the most wonderful vision of a nation transformed under Christ. Providing Bishop Joseph with a vehicle dedicated solely to his Diocesan ministry would enable growth, discipleship teaching, pastoral work, peace reconciliation and major events such as youth and pastor conferences and confirmations to happen. Envelopes for these special donations are available from today and can be returned to the collection plates at the back of church on Sunday 1st, 8th and 15th October.

Please also remember in your prayers: Peter Dell, Rev Jane Everitt, Rev Martin Keighley, John Richardson, Elizabeth King, Chris Kelsall, Michaela Jones, Mark Price, Rebekah, Colin Cook, Keith Shaw, Craig Abson and John Hawley. And the families of John Hurst, Janice Kemp, Jo Crosswell, Emmi Rae Taylor and Stewart Riley whose funerals are due to take place.
