Congregational Questionnaire: For some months now the Parochial Church Council (PCC) has been discussing the possibility of putting together a survey which when completed by everyone will help us understand ourselves as a church and shape our prayers and our planning for the year ahead. The good news is that the survey is available from today! We really hope that you will feel able take part in this quick exercise, whether you attend regularly or not so regularly, on Zoom or in person!

Final Call: Feast of the Nations is taking place this coming Saturday. Do drop in to the Broadway Rooms between 12pm and 2.30pm for what’s sure to be an enjoyable afternoon of food and entertainment.

On Thursday 31st August: We celebrated the life and ministry of St Aiden. Aiden was a monk in the monastery of Iona and he was sent as a missionary to Northumbria at the request of King Oswald. Aiden was consecrated Bishop of Lindisfarne in 635 and worked closely with Oswald and became involved in the training of Priests. He had a particular concern for the poor and enthusiasm for preaching the gospel.

Everlasting God, you sent the gentle bishop Aiden to proclaim the gospel to the people

of Northumbria; grant us so to live as he taught in simplicity, humility and love for the poor,

through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit

one God now and for ever. Amen
