About Us

Saint John the Evangelist, Lund, is the Parish Church for the villages of Newton -with- Scales, Clifton, and the hamlet of Salwick. The parish is in the Diocese of Blackburn, the Deanery of Kirkham and is a member of the Churches Together in Kirkham and District. Our Church is Eucharist centred. We are an inclusive Church, liberal catholic. Vestments are worn and incense is used on major festivals. The Sacrament is reserved, services usually teaching and preaching, and use of the processional cross is observed. We are fortunate to have a robed choir of four parts and we use four music settings of the mass.
