So proud of the children Freckleton C of E Primary School today. We had our school Eucharist with an Act of Remembrance for Remembrance Sunday. They were so respectful, were absolutely silent in the minute's silence. It was reception class's first time joining us and they sat beautifully.Well done to all of you and thank-you to Mr Slater for playing the organ, Mrs Threlfall for playing the Last Post and Reveille and those who have decorated the church so beautifully. Can you spot our silhouette soldier representing all of those who sacrificed their lives for ours? Our Remembrance Sunday service will taken place on Sunday, please be seated by 10.50am.There will also be an ecumenical service at the village war memorial at 12.15pm.We will remember them.
Then we had the pleasure of welcoming Freddie Jonathan and his family for his baptism. Welcome to God's family Freddie.
First of all, our worship 4 U family service, where we had the delight of also baptising Ruari Eric Arthur. His middle names are after his two great grandads and he wore his grandad's christening gown.Freckleton C of E Primary School led us in some wonderful prayers. Some of the children helped me to make a cake - taking the recipe literally complete with flowers, whole eggs, sugar cubes, etc., and we thought about how if we don't understand the context of what we're reading, it can go terribly wrong, and related that to reading our bibles and understanding the different genres in it, etc.We also celebrated All Saints Sunday, and we had a proper cake afterwards!
Remembering our loved ones at tonight's All Souls Service. Each remembered by name and a candle lit for them.
