Warton Singers visited Old Vicarage Nursing Home this afternoon to entertain the residents. One of the choir's former members, who also sang in St Paul's Warton Church choir, is a resident, and she loved meeting up with her friends.Bella and Dave came along for some much appreciated pet therapy too.
We were blessed to have 70 people at our Worship4U service this morning, of which 27 were children. Our school, Freckleton C of E Primary School, led us in some lovely prayers as always. One poor mummy's daughter won her a peg in a game of deal no deal. But all ended well when we reflected on how God's love isn't about luck but is abundant and generous. So she went away with all of the lovely prizes.
It was a delight to host the world day of prayer for churches of all denominations across the deanery today and to see local friends from Holy Family RC Church, Freckleton, St Paul's Warton and Freckleton Methodist Church, as well as others from further afield. It was also lovely to have several gentlemen respond to our invitation to join us and to have their prayerful support. Thank you to all who organised it and to all who came.A special mention to Grace, who retires after an amazing 50 years on the organising committee!!
It was a beautifully crisp and sunny Saturday morning, when Holy Trinity Church opened for tea, coffee, toasties, cakes, and good company. It was lovely to chat with lots of people. Thank you as always to our fantastic team of helpers. On this day, we remembered the second anniversary of the start of the war in Ukraine.
