We start Holy Week with the Liturgy of the Palms followed by the Liturgy of the Passion (which includes a dramatized reading of the Passion Gospel).

Pergolesi - Stabat Mater

The Stabat Mater, set by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi (1710-1736),
is a stunning baroque masterpiece. It offers us spiritual guidance, beautifully conveying the competing emotions of intense grief,
as Mary contemplates her son's sacrifice on the cross.

Eucharist of the Last Supper and Vigil of Prayer

We remember the Last Supper at which Jesus instituted the Eucharist; the service includes the washing of feet and the stripping of the altar. There is then a vigil of prayer at the altar of repose until 10pm.
