A famous Advent Hymn has the line: “Come thou long expected Jesus, born to set thy people free.” But what does that freedom look like? On four successive Mondays in Advent, we will be meeting at churches across our United Benefice, to hear from guest speakers and consider four important topics.
Loneliness - Mon 29th November at St Wilfrid’s, Ribchester. Our guest speaker is from Help the Aged who will share their insight.
Prisoners - Mon 6th December at All Hallows, Mitton. Our guest speaker is Rev’d Calum Crombie. Prison Chaplain at HMP Wymott.
Addiction - Mon 13th December at St Wilfrid's, Ribchester. Our guest speaker is Nicola Plumb - a Lived Experience Manager. She will bring her friend Patricia who is in recovery.
Persecuted Church - Mon 20th December at St John's, Hurst Green. Our guest speaker is Lord Alton of Liverpool. He is passionate about his support for the Persecuted Church.
Each of these services will be in the context of a Eucharist and will last for 1-hour,
beginning at 7:30 pm. Please use it as part of your Advent Discipline and preparation
for the coming of the One who can set us all free
