Safeguarding

The church of St Michael & All Angels Ashton-on-Ribble is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer, Jane Bagwell. The Diocese of Blackburn’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Childrens' or Adults' Services. All members of the PCC have current certificates for safeguarding awareness.

The parish is committed to providing a safe and creative environment for all its work, including with children and young people and those adults who might be vulnerable. Our first priority is to maintain a safe setting as the context for all our work, and then to work within procedures which will endeavour to keep us all safe from harm.
