Searching out our ancestors and tracing their lives has become very popular in recent years. Our genealogy is a very important part of who we are. You can even trace Jesus' ancestry in the Gospel of Matthew!
ALL historic registers and records from St. Michael's and St Mark's are held at Lancashire Archives in Preston city centre. Contact details are: Lancashire Archives, Bow Lane, Preston PR1 2RE. email: [email protected] phone: 01772 533039.
Only very recent records (for the last five years or so) are in the current registers still held at the church.
The names of those who died in the first and second world wars are inscribed in St. Mark's chapel. Please see our separate page on remembrance and war memorials.
There is no burial ground at St. Michael's although we do have a record of burials of ashes in our Memorial garden.
