Blue Flamingo spreads its wings

Community_news

Blue Flamingo dementia-friendly Cafe & Community Hub are fundraising so they can continue offering an important lifeline to people in our local community, especially those living with dementia and the loved ones who care for them. Blue Flamingo started nearly 3 years ago here at St Michael's church. At that time, they offered one monthly session to the community as an outreach programme of the church. Since then, they have experienced impressive growth and now offering weekly sessions in our church hall in addition to montly sessions in two other hubs in Fulwood and Penwortham. In just a few weeks, they'll be launching a community choir.

The Blue Flamingo success is due in large part to contributions from people in the community, many of whom are part of the St Michael's family. In January of this year, Erin Singleton - who founded Blue Flamingo - made the decision to incorporate the group as a Community Interest Company but continues to work closely with St Michael's, ensuring that our Parish benefits from the services they provide. Their current fundraising campaign will help them continue their important work.

If you're able to make a contribution, you may contact Erin directly ([email protected] or 07462 320349) or make a pledge online:
