Safeguarding
At St Thomas' we have adopted the House of Bishops ‘Promoting a Safer Church’ policy and the Parish Safeguarding Handbook, incorporating the House of Bishop’s Safeguarding Policy and Practice Guidance which maybe downloaded from the Church of England web site.
Alongside this we have a handbook of local practices, St Thomas' Local Safeguarding Practices.
St Thomas' has adopted the 'Church of England's National Policy Statement on the Recruitment of ex-Offenders'
And we have formally adopted the 'Safeguarding Policy Statement Promoting a Safer Church'.
Safeguarding Training has been standardised nationally and will be delivered by staff and volunteers from the diocese, or online or by our Safeguarding Adviser. Everyone who works/volunteers with children, young people and adults who may be vulnerable needs to complete the C0 course and the C1 course.
