St Oswald's Church Organ
St Oswald’s Church organ was installed and rebuilt by Henry Groves and Son of Nottingham; it was originally built by Messrs Brindley and Foster for Ranmoor Methodist Church, Sheffield, which had closed down. Nine years before it's installation in St Oswald's it had been modernised and changed from Tracker action to Pneumatic. Approximately half the total cost of £1,600 was subscribed by members of the congregation and friends.
The dedication took place on Thursday 16th April 1964 at 7.15pm by Canon A Hodgson, Rural Dean of Garstang. The hymns sung were "Praise my Soul the King of Heaven", "Praise to the Lord the Almighty, the King of Creation" and "O Praise ye the Lord", together with Psalm 150. Following the service there was an organ recital by E Crompton FRCO of St Peter's Fleetwood, our organist Ian Wright's piano and organ tutor.
