At the services on Sunday 10th November held in Saint Andrew's, Slaidburn, and Saint Michaels, Whitewell, the following announcement was made:"We are pleased to announce that the Revd Karen Herschell has been appointed as the next Rector of the Hodder Valley and Diocesan Rural Renewal Officer, subject to the usual safer recruitment checks. Karen is currently vicar of Balderstone, Mellor and Samlesbury in the Whalley Deanery. Please do pray for Karen and her husband Stuart as they prepare to move house and as Karen prepares to take up her new post. The Bishop of Blackburn will institute and the Archdeacon of Blackburn will induct Karen on Sunday 9th February 2025 at 3.00 pm at Slaidburn Parish Church."
With the continuing interregnum the pattern of services at the two parish churches are as follows:Saint Andrew's at Slaidburn holds a service every Sunday at 10.00 am.Saint Michael's at Whitewell holds a service on the second and fourth Sunday of each month at 11.00 am.The two chapels-of-ease at St Bartholomew's, Tosside and St James, Dalehead are not holding regular services at the moment.
