The Archbishops of Canterbury and York have called for Sunday 27th February to be a day of prayer for peace. They have also encouraged the Church of England to join with the Diocese in Europe in prayer for the chaplaincy in Kyiv and the other churches that serve the Ukraine on 1st March, and to join with Pope Francis in making Ash Wednesday a day of fasting and prayer peace.This Sunday we will be praying for peace at 9.15am and 10.30amAsh Wednesday 1st March will be a day of prayer and fasting with services at 9.00am, 12pm and 7pm open to all to join us. If you can't be with us please take a moment to pause and pray.A Prayer for Ukraine God of peace and justice, we pray for the people of Ukraine today. We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons. We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow, that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them. We pray for those with power over war or peace, for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions. Above all, we pray for your precious children at risk and in fear, that you would hold and protect them. We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
