This Christmas the Benefice Occasional Singers, formed from members of the congregations of St Thomas and St Mary, are singing to raise money for charity in company with the long-standing Occasional Singers as they celebrate their 40th Christmas. Details of rehearsals and bookings are below. New members are welcomed as long as they can attend rehearsals.

Singing is unaccompanied and 3 or 4 part harmony.
1. Sunday 24th November 7.00-9.00pm practice and light supper at Crewe home
2. Sunday 1st December 7.00-9.00pm practice and light supper at Crewe home
3. Sun 8th December, Barley Methodist Chapel Christingle: 11.00am.
4. Wed 11th December: Boundary Mill, 17.45-20.00pm
5. Sat 21st Dec: Burnley Town Centre 10.00-3.00? with breaks. Meet outside Boots.
6. 24th December: Christmas Eve Pendle Pub and Restaurant Tour, 6.00-9.30pm, details tbc
7. 24th December, “Midnight” services tbc (10.00pm ) St Mary’s Newchurch in Pendle, candle lit
The charities this year are St Mary’s Church and Pendleside Hospice.
Dress: warm carol singery style. If you dare, smart formal on 24th but anything goes. Bow ties? Glitter?

St Mary's Church, Newchurch in Pendle

St Mary's Church is a beautiful, small, old church in the tiny village of Newchurch. It welcomes visitors, whether local residents or people travelling through, to all services and events, or just to sit and enjoy the peace of the church. Call in and see us! Our summer Sunday afternoon hospitality events are fun and free- do  check when they are running.

We enjoy working as  part of the United Benefice of St Thomas' Church, Barrowford and St. Mary's Church, Newchurch in Pendle.

Although we welcome everyone to our church, it was built into the side of a hill and if you are disabled, access may be tricky. Please contact us if you require assistance and we shall help if we can. email [email protected]
