United Benefice of St Thomas, Barrowford and St Mary, Newchurch-in-Pendle

Concerts, Special Services and Events 2024 at St Mary's 

All services are Holy Communion at 9:30am a unless indicated otherwise  at St Mary's Church, Newchurch in Pendle. Our  other Benefice church, Barrowford St Thomas' holds Holy Communion services at 11.00am every Sunday  with Sunday School usually first and third Sundays and Parade Sunday the second Sunday, and on Wednesdays, Holy Communion is held in the Narthex at 10.30am.

Sun 8th December, Installation and Induction of Rev Nick Murray, St Thomas’ at 18.00

Fri 13th December: Men's group at Barrowford Vicarage, 19.00pm onwards with Rev Nick Murray.

Sat 14th Dec Toy Event Widdass’ home, 19.00 adults £10, children free but small donation welcomed.

Sun 15th Barley to Bethlehem with Barley Methodists: meet at Barley car park at 17.00

Fri 20th Dec St Mary’s school carol service in church13.30

Fri 20th Roughlee school carol/awards service 9.00

Sat 21st Benefice Occasionals singing in Burnley centre 10.00-15.00

Sunday 22nd Advent 4 Service St Mary’s 9.30am

Sun 22nd Dec Combined Barley and St Mary Carol Service by candlelight at Barley Chapel 18.00

Mon 23rd Dec Crib Service, St Mary’s Church 16.00pm

Tues 24 Dec “Midnight” services, welcoming Christmas: St Mary’s, 22.00pm

Wed 25th Dec:  service at St Mary's

Sun 29th Dec: no service at St Mary's Church, but a combined service  is to be held at St Thomas' Church at 10.00am
